Take your GovTEAMS Account With You!

Your GovTEAMS account is designed to move with you throughout your APS journey. This page outlines steps you can take before you change agencies (including MoG), or if required after you have transferred, to ensure you retain access to your GovTEAMS account, and avoid access issues and account duplication. 

Keeping your account active and your profile updated can help to ensure you retain access throughout your transition. 

Avoid duplicate accounts!

Please do not register for a new account in the new agency, as this will create a duplicate account, which we want to avoid. 

If you have already created a new account, please contact us so we can deactivate the duplicate.

 

Staying proactive with your GovTEAMS account ensures you don't lose valuable connections or data as you transition to another agency. Follow these steps for a smooth transition and uninterrupted access to your GovTEAMS workspace. 

Before You Transfer or Change Agencies 

  • Update your multi-factor authentication (MFA): Include an additional method, one which you will have access to after you transfer that is NOT connected to your current agency. (How do I - Set up MFA)
  • Update your email address: As soon as you have access to your new email address, log into your account and change the email address to your new one. (How do I - Update my account)
  • Save copies of any important documents you need to retain, especially for projects where you may need continued access in your new role
  • Review the Communities you are a member of and ensure you still need to be a member. 

If You Have Already Transferred or Changed Agencies

  • If you didn't update your details before the transfer or change of agencies, try logging in with your old credentials. If that doesn't work, contact us or your new agency's GovTEAMS administrator for assistance.
  • Update your profile: Once you have access, promptly update your agency and email information in your profile.  (How do I - Update my account)
  • If you have already registered a new account, please contact us to ensure we help you maintain a single GovTEAMS account moving forward.
