Welcoming Viva Engage to GovTEAMS! 

We’re excited to introduce Viva Engage, a new feature available through GovTEAMS OFFICIAL. Viva Engage brings a more social, open, and engaging experience to GovTEAMS by making it easier to connect with people, share knowledge, and build communities across the APS. 

 

What is Viva Engage? 

Viva Engage is a modern social networking and collaboration tool that enables users to: 

  • Join or create communities based on shared work priorities or interests
  • Post updates, ask questions, and share insights
  • Share photos, videos, and documents to support open knowledge-sharing
  • Follow people and Storylines to stay connected with colleagues and leaders
  • Discover what’s happening across the APS, not just in your immediate team 

If you’ve used platforms like Yammer or LinkedIn, the experience will feel familiar, but Viva Engage is fully integrated into GovTEAMS.

 

Why has Viva Engage been enabled? 

GovTEAMS exists to enable collaboration across the APS. Viva Engage supports this mission by fostering informal connection and broader conversation beyond Teams meetings and SharePoint sites. 

We’re enabling Viva Engage to: 

  • Strengthen communities of practice and networks across agencies
  • Enhance knowledge sharing and visibility across the APS
  • Offer a more inclusive, social space for interaction
  • Support productivity, wellbeing, and engagement in digital workspaces 

Like all GovTEAMS features, Viva Engage is optional members can choose how and when to engage. The existing GovTEAMS member terms and conditions apply.. 

 

How do I access it? 

Viva Engage is available via: 

  • The GovTEAMS OFFICIAL Dashboard
  • The Viva Engage app in Microsoft Teams
  • The Viva Engage mobile app (sign in with your GovTEAMS credentials) 

Look out for the Viva Engage icon in your apps list or Teams sidebar.

When Viva Engage launches, you’ll be able to: 

  • Browse and join existing communities
  • Connect with colleagues across the APS
  • Ask questions, share updates, and follow people of interest
  • Start building or contributing to your own community
