As part of ongoing security improvements, GovPlace has updated Microsoft 365-generated email notifications to use generic subject lines.
This change applies to notifications generated by Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, Planner and Power Apps. Notifications will continue to be delivered as normal; however, subject lines will no longer contain content-specific details.
The change strengthens information protection controls by reducing the visibility of potentially sensitive information in notification emails while maintaining existing notification functionality. GovPlace is a shared PROTECTED service and applies consistent security controls across participating agencies.
Users will be required to view emails in GovPlace to see specific details after receiving a generic notification that a new email message is available.
